Homemade Nutella Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup Hazelnuts or substitute with almonds/peanuts
- 1/4 cup Cocoa Powder or use melted chocolate
- ⅓ cup Powdered Sugar adjust to taste
- 1 tbsp Oil vegetable or coconut oil
- ½ tsp Vanilla Essence
- ⅛ tsp Salt
Instructions
Roast the Nuts:
- Add hazelnuts to a dry skillet.1 cup Hazelnuts
- Roast on medium heat for 10 minutes, or until browned and the skins begin to blister.
- Transfer to a towel and rub them together to remove the skins.
- Set aside the peeled nuts.
Blend the Hazelnuts (or other nuts):
- In a high-speed blender or food processor, grind the roasted hazelnuts until a thick paste forms.
- This will take 2-3 minutes. The paste should look creamy, like peanut butter.
Add Oil:
- Add 1 tbsp of oil to the nut paste.
- Blend again until the oil incorporates smoothly, giving the spread a silkier texture.
Add Dry Ingredients:
- Now, add cocoa powder, powdered sugar, salt, and vanilla essence to the mixture.⅓ cup Powdered Sugar, ½ tsp Vanilla Essence
- Blend everything together until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the blender if needed.
Adjust the Consistency:
- If your spread is too thick, you can add a little more oil (1 tsp at a time) and blend until it reaches the desired consistency.
Store:
- Transfer the homemade Nutella to an airtight jar.
- It will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks at room temperature or longer if refrigerated.
