This easy recipe offers three delightful serving options: filled with fresh whipping cream, homemade Nutella, or rolled in cinnamon sugar. Ingredients
 

  • 6 tbsp Lukewarm Water around 38°C for activating the yeast
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • ¾ tsp Yeast instant or active dry
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour sifted for light texture
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tbsp Oil for dough
  • Oil for deep frying

Optional Fillings or Coatings:

  • Fresh Whipping Cream for serving
  • Homemade Nutella for a chocolatey filling
  • ¼ cup Sugar for coating
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon Powder for coating

Instructions
 

Preparing the Dough:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 6 tablespoons of lukewarm water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and ¾ teaspoon of yeast. Stir well and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • Add 1 cup of all-purpose flour and ¼ teaspoon of salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until the dough starts to come together.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  • Gradually incorporate ½ tablespoon of oil into the dough while kneading until the dough becomes soft and smooth.

Resting the Dough:

  • Lightly grease the top of the dough with oil, cover the bowl with a damp kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.

Shaping the Rolls:

  • After 1 hour, gently punch down the dough to release the air pockets. Sprinkle a little flour on the surface, divide the dough into 3-4 portions, and shape each portion into smooth rolls (as shown in the video).
  • Place the shaped rolls on a tray, and cover them with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap. and let them rest for another 20 minutes.

Frying the Rolls:

  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-low heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the rolls into the oil and fry them until they turn golden brown on all sides, turning frequently for even cooking (about 4-5 minutes).
  • Remove the fried rolls using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.

Serving Options:

  • Cream-Filled Rolls: Slice the rolls in half and add fresh whipping cream for a light and fluffy filling.
  • Nutella Rolls: Fill the center with a generous spread of homemade Nutella for a rich, indulgent treat.
  • Cinnamon Sugar Coated Rolls: Toss the rolls in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon powder for a sweet, crunchy coating.
