Ingredients
 

  • 1 cup Sabudana Sago Pearls – large variety
  • Water Enough to boil sabudana
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/3 cup Milk Powder enhances richness
  • 3 tbsp Sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 Banana chopped
  • 1 Apple chopped
  • 1/2 cup Grapes use different colors for a variety
  • Cherries optional – for garnish
  • Raisins optional – for garnish
  • Nuts chopped, optional – for garnish
  • Jelly Pieces optional – for garnish

Instructions
 

Boil Sabudana:

  • In a large pot, bring water to a boil.

  • Add the sabudana (sago pearls) to the boiling water.

  • Cook until translucent, about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  • Once cooked, drain the hot water using a sieve or colander.
  • Rinse in cold water to remove excess starch and stop the cooking process.
  • Set aside the cooked sabudana to cool completely.

Prepare Milk Syrup:

  • In a medium pot, add 2 cups of milk.

  • Stir in 1/3 cup milk powder to enrich and thicken the milk.

  • Add 3 tablespoons sugar or adjust to your taste.

  • Cook on medium-high for 15 minutes until thickened, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  • Once the milk has reduced slightly and thickened, remove from heat.
  • Allow the milk syrup to cool completely. Refrigerate to speed up cooling if desired.

Prepare Fruits:

  • Chop the banana and apple into small, bite-sized pieces.

  • Halve the grapes. Using different colored grapes adds a colorful touch.
